Are you passionate about climate education and transforming how the world responds to the climate crisis?
This fellowship is your opportunity to help reimagine climate education so that every child grows up prepared, empowered, and able to shape a just and sustainable future.
As a Leading Minds Climate Education Fellow, you will join a global cohort of young leaders advancing youth-led initiatives, conducting research, shaping policy, and co-designing strategic convenings. Selected initiatives may receive up to $20,000 in grant support.
Lead the Future of Climate Education
UNICEF will select up to 12 young climate leaders (ages 10–30) who are strengthening climate education in schools, communities, and countries.
Examples of eligible youth-led initiatives include:
- School system integration: curriculum development, climate clubs, education networks
- Government partnerships: working with policymakers or education authorities
- Rights-based frameworks: linking climate education to justice and human rights
- Community resilience: campaigns, local projects, informal learning
- Digital campaigns & media: storytelling, awareness-building platforms

What You Will Do
- Document and elevate your climate education “Bright Spot”
- Contribute to youth-led research and foresight
- Shape policy and join national/global dialogues
- Produce stories, tools, and evidence to strengthen education systems
- Co-design and co-host strategic convenings

Who Can Apply?
Young people ages 10–30 who are:
- Leading or representing a climate education initiative
- Passionate about climate action and creating change
- Able to commit 4–5 hours per week (Feb 2026 – July 2027)
- Comfortable working in English (other UN languages are an advantage)
