About the Role
Sandvik Mining is seeking a Facilities & Operations Support Coordinator to maintain smooth and efficient facility operations. This role ensures building systems, equipment, and administrative processes run reliably. You will coordinate maintenance activities, manage vendors, support onboarding tasks, and provide day-to-day administrative support to keep the workplace safe, functional, and well-organized.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilities & Maintenance Coordination
- Oversee and coordinate preventative maintenance for building systems and equipment (HVAC units, forklifts, cranes).
- Respond promptly to urgent issues such as equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance for equipment calibrations.
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Manage purchasing activities for facility and office requirements.
- Coordinate vendor and contractor setup processes.
- Oversee third-party service providers to ensure quality and timely completion.
Onboarding & Administrative Support
- Facilitate new employee onboarding related to facility access and identification.
- Support general administrative tasks and coordinate employee meal/food orders as required.
Reporting & Compliance
- Maintain diesel fuel logs and other facility documentation.
- Ensure accurate tracking and timely completion of facility and equipment-related activities.
New Facility Support
- Assist with setup and transition activities for new facility openings, including equipment installation and space planning.
Qualifications & Skills
- University Degree or College Diploma in Business Administration or related discipline (asset).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Hands-on, proactive approach to solving facility and equipment issues.
- Experience working with vendors, contractors, or service providers.
- Ability to coordinate maintenance and maintain accurate logs/documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and related systems.
- Strong communication, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
