About the Role
Sandvik Mining & Rock Technology India Pvt. Ltd. (part of Sandvik Group) is seeking a Design Engineer (SRP) to provide engineering support for screening equipment. The role covers Current Product Engineering, New Product Development Engineering, and Order-Based Engineering activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs for sub-systems.
- Design solutions that are simple, cost-effective, and use appropriate materials.
- Design fabricated structural weldments, including bolts.
- Select bearings and motors, including performing calculations.
- Conduct basic design calculations (beam bending, stress calculations).
- Follow material and safety standards for design.
- Verify designs using basic engineering mechanics principles.
- Release manufacturing drawings and BOMs for production.
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree or master’s in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
- 7–9 years of design experience in the mining/construction or heavy machinery industry.
- At least 4 years’ experience in SolidWorks.
- Experience with AutoCAD for drafting.
- Familiarity with Teamcenter; UG-Nx is a plus.
- Strong oral and written communication in English.
- Proven track record in simplifying designs and reducing manufacturing costs.
