About the Role
Sandvik Mining is a global leading supplier of equipment, tools, parts, services, and technical solutions for the mining and infrastructure industries. The GET Assistant role focuses on maintaining and extending the life of GET equipment according to OEM specifications to ensure machine availability, effective customer relations, and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct drill rig evaluations and advise operators on drilling parameters.
- Inspect and test GET equipment per OEM standards.
- Identify faults and report for remedial action.
- Perform scheduled maintenance on hammers to extend equipment life.
- Analyse removed rock tools to determine causes of failure.
- Complete failure analysis reports for all examined rock tool products.
- Conduct scrap analysis and ad hoc investigations for premature product failures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12 / N3 technical or equivalent qualification (NQF Level 4).
- GET Level 1 & 2 certificate of competence (advantageous).
- English proficiency.
- Valid code 10 driver’s license with at least two years of driving experience.
- Physical and medical ability to function in a mining environment.
