Purpose of the Job
To oversee mining production at an operational and tactical management level, ensuring safe, cost-effective, and quality output in line with company standards.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Grade 12 (with Mathematics and Physical Science) or NQF Level 4 equivalent
- Blasting Certificate (essential)
- Mine Overseer Certificate of Competency (essential)
- Mining Engineering Diploma/Degree (advantageous)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Shift Supervisor (supervisory level)
- 3–5 years’ experience as an appointed Mine Overseer (advantageous)

- Deliver quality production safely and cost-effectively
- Manage and supervise shift supervisors and workforce
- Plan short- and long-term operational objectives
- Set and manage financial budgets
- Ensure compliance with mining laws and regulations
- Evaluate work performance and written reports
- Handle disciplinary matters and enforce agreements
- Coordinate activities and ensure work meets required standards
