Job Overview
Exxaro Resources is seeking a Digital Value Chain Lead to drive digital transformation and innovation within its Mafube Coal operations. This strategic leadership role focuses on implementing digital solutions that align with Exxaro’s business strategy, enhance operational performance, and unlock sustainable business value.
The successful candidate will lead complex digital initiatives, manage change, and promote innovation across the mining value chain while ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) in a relevant field OR Bachelor of Engineering (Essential)
- Management Development Programme (Advantageous)
- 6–8 years’ relevant experience in business improvement or digital transformation
- Preferably within mining, resources, or heavy industry
- Proven project management capability
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Demonstrated change management experience in digital environments
- Ability to leverage data analytics for innovation and value creation
- Psychometric Assessment (conducted by Exxaro)
- Certificate of Fitness (conducted by Exxaro)
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a digital strategy aligned with Exxaro’s Business Strategy
- Lead complex digital and process improvement projects
- Drive continuous improvement across operational value chains
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Identify optimisation opportunities using data analytics and industry trends
- Lead change management initiatives supporting digital transformation
- Evaluate and pilot innovative digital solutions
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
- Promote effective knowledge sharing and continuous learning
- Provide leadership and strategic oversight of digital initiatives
