The 70:20:10 Learning Model
- 70% Experience: Hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and commissioning of surface mining equipment.

Key Responsibilities
- Fault Diagnosis: Inspecting equipment to determine malfunctions using hydraulic and electrical schematics.
- Maintenance & Repair: Adjusting equipment and replacing defective components according to scope.
- Commissioning: Setting up new equipment and providing training at customer sites.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively participating in initiatives to improve business performance.
- Safety Leadership: Performing “Take Five” risk assessments and ensuring full compliance with EHS policies.
Essential Requirements
- Certification: Valid Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic certification.
- Experience: At least 3 years related to mining equipment is a strong asset.
- Legal: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada with a valid driver’s license.
- Availability: Willingness to work varied shifts and travel to local and national mine sites.
Required Skills
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues.
- Data & Documentation: Computer literacy (MS Office) for completing technical and failure reports.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal skills for effective customer liaison.
- Mindset: Problem-solving approach with a commitment to safety and housekeeping.
