The role aims to protect company assets, property, staff, and customers through vigilance, incident prevention, and compliance with company procedures and industry best practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Minimum Requirements<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Essential<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Grade 12 \/ Matric<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grade C PSIRA accreditation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Minimum 3 years\u2019 general security experience within retail environments, such as malls or warehouses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Advantageous<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>At least 1 year previous experience in a similar security role<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Stay vigilant and alert to identify suspicious activities and act according to legal authority and Dis-Chem procedures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct regular patrols to ensure visibility and reduce security risks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor and control access to the site; document and authorise entry for both vehicles and pedestrians<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Investigate and report signs of damage, unlawful entry or security breaches<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain strong visible presence to deter theft, vandalism and unsafe behaviour<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide professional, courteous assistance to staff, customers and visitors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct access control duties, including searching staff, suppliers and merchandisers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain occurrence books, registers and security documentation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supervise refuse removal per company standards<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Protect company property from theft, fraud and malicious activity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be present at your assigned post at all times<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deliver excellent internal and external customer service<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Report unusual or suspicious behaviour immediately<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist with store opening and closing procedures; ensure all doors, windows and taps are secured<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct daily personnel and vehicle searches<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Report suspicious incidents verbally and submit written reports<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contact police\/emergency services when required<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support emergency procedures and assist response teams during crises<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain order during evacuations and guide staff\/customers safely<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide ongoing safety advice and warnings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor alarms, CCTV and operate emergency detection equipment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct after-hours surveillance where required<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain detailed notes of incidents and daily observations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enforce rules and regulations to prevent criminal activity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform additional duties such as responding to calls, messages or departmental errands<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Competencies<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Essential<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>PSIRA knowledge<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fire emergency training and Health &amp; Safety exposure<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong English communication skills (read, write, speak)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Advantageous<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ability to communicate in a third language<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Special Conditions of Employment<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>PSIRA-registered (Grade C)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>South African citizen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clear credit and criminal record (MIE checks)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Driver\u2019s licence, reliable transport and PDP (if deployed as a driver)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Remuneration and Benefits<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Market-related salary<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kaelo benefits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provident Fund (PSSPF)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dischem.simplify.hr\/Vacancy\/Apply\/il22kx\">Apply Here<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
