The role drives governance excellence, risk management, compliance oversight, and strategic stakeholder engagement across the Everyday Banking and product environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Governance and Control<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Define and monitor Non-Financial Risk Appetite for the business area.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proactively identify issues and emerging risks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop and implement combined assurance plans.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure control approaches are aligned to organisational priorities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. First Line of Defence Governance Excellence<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Establish scalable, repeatable, and efficient risk management processes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implement and maintain governance structures within Everyday Banking.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oversee policy and standard rollout and compliance adherence.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lead engagement across multiple functional stakeholders including Audit, Compliance, and Governance teams.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oversee anti-money laundering (AML) implementation and reporting across Cards businesses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Align operational efficiency with acceptable risk appetite.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Embed a culture of continuous improvement through training and communication.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Stakeholder Engagement<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Serve as the primary contact for governance and control engagements.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communicate standards, requirements, and initiatives to relevant stakeholders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drive and oversee control-related strategies and action plans.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engage with senior executives and business leadership.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4. Reporting<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Produce Operational Summary reports, business-level strategic updates, and group operational risk reporting (CPA, MCA, RCAs, KRIs).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implement innovative tracking and reporting mechanisms.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide progress updates on operational excellence and remediation initiatives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5. People Management<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Recruit, lead, and develop high-performing teams.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drive a high-performance culture through coaching, performance management, and development planning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain succession plans for key roles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide strategic direction aligned to group goals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Minimum Education<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Business, Commerce, or Management Studies (Required)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Employment Equity<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Absa is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
