It aims to develop skills in the <strong>preservation, promotion, research, and digitisation of South Africa\u2019s heritage<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The bursary provides financial support for tuition, study materials, and living expenses, enabling students to study full-time without financial constraints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Bursary Coverage<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tuition fees: Fully covered<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prescribed textbooks: Fully covered<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Electronic device: Up to R10,000<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accommodation: Up to R50,000 (where applicable)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meals: Up to R18,500 (where applicable)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transport: Up to R10,000 (where applicable)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligible Fields of Study<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Funding is available for heritage-related programmes, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Physical and Biological Anthropology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Archaeology (including Maritime and Underwater Cultural Heritage)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Geography and Geomatic Sciences (preference to postgraduates in Cartography and GIS)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Archives and Records Management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Library and Information Sciences<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conservation of the Built Environment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heritage and Museum Studies (Management, Curatorship, Preservation)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Palaeontology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Indigenous Knowledge Systems (IKS)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>History<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Digitisation of Heritage Resources<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility Requirements<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applicants must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be a <strong>South African citizen<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be <strong>40 years old or younger<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be registered or provisionally accepted as a <strong>full-time student<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Study in a <strong>heritage-related field<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have a minimum <strong>65% academic average<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Not be permanently employed earning more than <strong>R130,000 per year<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Not receive funding from another bursary or donor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Required Documents<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All documents must be <strong>certified copies not older than 3 months<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>South African ID copy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of registration or provisional acceptance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Matric certificate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Latest academic results or postgraduate progress report<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of parents\u2019 or guardians\u2019 household income and payslips<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Affidavit confirming authenticity of income documents<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of disability (if applicable)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applications must be submitted <strong>online only<\/strong> via the DSAC bursary portal.
