This care may be delivered directly or indirectly to patients, their families, or the broader community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The incumbent coordinates patient care within a <strong>multi-disciplinary healthcare team<\/strong> and applies scientifically based nursing theories and processes. Care is delivered with consideration of the patient\u2019s <strong>physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs<\/strong>, using appropriate educational and technical healthcare practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Work Outputs &amp; Accountabilities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Consistency of Care<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Patient Care<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Serve as a clinical resource to assist staff in assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting nursing care<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communicate effectively with families and healthcare professionals, acting as a patient advocate when required<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facilitate communication between nursing management and unit staff to address patient care challenges<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assess, plan, and implement advanced nursing care within a specialised emergency environment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Initiate and manage emergency and resuscitation (RESUS) procedures within the Scope of Practice<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rapidly assess, diagnose, and treat emergency patients efficiently and effectively<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct patient and family interviews to obtain relevant clinical and background information<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate actively in multi-disciplinary healthcare planning and treatment implementation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct patient rounds with medical practitioners and contribute to care planning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop and coordinate individualised nursing care plans based on patient needs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Compile accurate day and night shift documentation, including patient status and staffing ratios<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain regular communication with the Unit Manager regarding operational activities and challenges<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contribute to the development of patient care policies and procedures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure a safe, clean, and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor and manage the safe and cost-effective use of supplies and equipment within budgetary guidelines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transformation of Our Society<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Actively participate as a team member to achieve departmental and hospital goals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborate with other hospital departments to ensure effective support services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work closely with the Clinical Facilitation Department to support ongoing education and training<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist with mentoring, evaluation, and development of nursing staff and students<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in in-service training, orientation, and continuous professional development<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advise staff on updated policies, procedures, and best practices<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Allocate and adjust staff resources based on patient acuity and clinical needs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote effective communication and strong working relationships within the unit and across disciplines<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Foster positive interpersonal and public relations in line with Netcare\u2019s values and philosophy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Disruptive Innovation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Support the adoption and use of <strong>CareOn<\/strong>, including electronic patient records, e-scripts, clinical orders, and stock management systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Skills Profile<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Qualifications &amp;
