The role also oversees equipment reliability and asset care management to ensure plant availability and operational efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The position ensures compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Codes of Practice (COPs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Responsibilities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Project &amp; Asset Management<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Manage R&amp;D, continuous improvement, and capital projects<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop project scopes and oversee execution<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improve and optimise existing equipment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implement and improve maintenance technologies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain engineering documentation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Control budgets and support business objectives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Maintenance &amp; Reliability<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Plan and coordinate shutdowns and planned maintenance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct plant inspections and identify inefficiencies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform maintenance data analysis (e.g., Pareto and correlation analyses)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apply root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and problem-solving techniques<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor equipment failure trends and reduce downtime<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Champion condition monitoring and reliability improvement initiatives<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review and improve maintenance standards and task lists<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Health, Safety &amp; Compliance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ensure all activities comply with OHSA and relevant standards<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stop and report safety contraventions immediately<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advise management on hazardous equipment conditions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apply risk assessment and mitigation strategies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure safe task execution and audit completed work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Operational &amp; Team Management<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Manage contractors within the assigned area<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lead and support the engineering department<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Liaise with other departments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform standby duties and act in higher roles when required<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work independently and within teams<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Minimum Qualifications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Grade 12 \/ NQF Level 4<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>B-Tech, BEng, BSc, or National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Required)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leadership training (Advantageous)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GCC Factories (Advantageous)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Experience &amp;
