{"id":809,"date":"2026-04-06T20:10:19","date_gmt":"2026-04-06T20:10:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theopportunitygiver.co.za\/?p=809"},"modified":"2026-04-06T20:14:28","modified_gmt":"2026-04-06T20:14:28","slug":"chief-director-needed-education-human-resource-management","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theopportunitygiver.co.za\/?p=809","title":{"rendered":"Chief Director needed: Education Human Resource Management"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Job Details<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Reference Number:<\/strong> DBE\/25\/2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Salary:<\/strong> R1 494 900 per annum (Senior Management Service)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Location:<\/strong> Pretoria, Gauteng<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Closing Date:<\/strong> 14 April 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Enquiries:<\/strong> Ms. M Mahape (012 357 3291) or Ms. N Kumalo (012 357 3398)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About the Role<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As Chief Director, you will head a critical portfolio overseeing four key directorates:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Education Human Resource Planning, Provisioning, and Monitoring.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Education Performance Management and Development.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Whole School Evaluation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Education Labour Relations Management and Conditions of Service.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will lead a team working in close collaboration with other state departments and provincial education offices to ensure the effective utilization of educators across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What You\u2019ll Do<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Strategy &amp; Recruitment:<\/strong> Develop and implement teacher recruitment strategies and human resource management information systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>System Reform:<\/strong> Revamp the post-allocation system to reduce class sizes and improve school efficiency.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Performance Management:<\/strong> Improve the effectiveness of teacher performance systems and integrated quality management evaluations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Labour Relations:<\/strong> Ensure effective and efficient labour relations and manage conditions of service for the sector.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reporting:<\/strong> Analyze and report on human resource requirements and capacity across the entire education sector.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Education:<\/strong> Bachelor\u2019s degree or undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 7) in Education, Social Science, or an equivalent SAQA-recognized qualification. (Postgraduate degree is an added advantage).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Experience:<\/strong> At least 5 years of experience at a <strong>Senior Managerial level<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Expertise:<\/strong> Extensive knowledge in Education Planning, Human Resources, or Labour Relations within the education sector.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Technical Skills:<\/strong> Deep understanding of provincial education processes, policy funding, and implementation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mandatory:<\/strong> A Certificate for the <strong>SMS pre-entry programme<\/strong> (Nyukela) is required before appointment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Competencies<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Strategic capacity and leadership.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Financial and Change Management.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>People Management and Empowerment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong diplomatic, writing, and communication skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Apply<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Important Note:<\/strong> Applications must be submitted on the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.policesecretariat.gov.za\/sites\/default\/files\/vacancies\/approved_New_Z83_form.pdf\">new Z83 form<\/a><\/strong>.
