Boxer is seeking a dedicated and detail-driven Construction OHS Officer to support safety compliance across our development and construction projects. This role ensures adherence to OHS legislation, strengthens contractor management, and drives continuous improvement in safety practices across the business.


Minimum Requirements

  • National Certificate in Construction Safety
    (National Diploma or 3-year OHS Degree advantageous)
  • Up to 3 years’ experience in construction, with OHS and contractor management exposure
  • SACPCMP registration preferred
  • Strong knowledge of the OHS Act, Construction Regulations, and applicable SANS standards
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Strong stakeholder relationship and problem-solving abilities
  • Able to work independently and apply conceptual thinking
  • Proficiency in OHS reporting systems (Aspirata-OHS advantageous)

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and audit contractor management procedures
  • Identify, assess, and monitor construction risks across projects
  • Ensure compliance with OHS Act, Construction Regulations, SANS standards, and insurer requirements
  • Maintain risk registers, profiles, and compliance reports
  • Liaise with internal teams (Project Managers, Facilities, Architects)
  • Engage external stakeholders (Contractors, Department of Labour, Insurers)
  • Conduct site inspections, review safety files, and verify OHS compliance
  • Investigate incidents and ensure corrective action follow-ups
  • Provide training, mentoring, and support to Principal Contractors
  • Promote teamwork, self-management, and alignment with Boxer’s safety values
