Programme Overview
SDC provides opportunities for unemployed youth to gain valuable skills through structured learnership programmes aligned with B-BBEE Skills Development goals.
Successful applicants will receive training, workplace exposure, and development support to improve employability.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following:
- South African citizen
- Black (African, Indian, or Coloured)
- Age between 18 – 28
- Minimum Grade 12 / Matric
- Available for a full 12-month programme
- Willing to attend practical training
Applicants living with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
Required Documents
Applicants must submit the following original documents:
- Updated CV
- Proof of residence
- Certified copies of ID (x2)
- Certified copies of highest qualification (x2)
- 3-month bank statement
- SARS tax number (Notice of Registration)
- Proof of disability (if applicable)
Application Process
Step 1: Document Submission
Submit documents in person at SDC campuses:
- Johannesburg: 24 Achter Road, Paulshof, Sandton
- Cape Town: 4th Floor, Bloemhof Building, 112 Edward Street, Bellville
Times:
- Abled learners: Mondays (08:00 – 12:00)
- Disabled learners: Monday – Friday (08:00 – 12:00)
Step 2: Document Review
All documents are verified for authenticity and compliance.
Step 3: Interview
Shortlisted candidates attend a screening interview.
Step 4: Assessment Test
Applicants must complete and pass an assessment (minimum 80%).
Step 5: Database Placement
Successful candidates are added to a validated learner database and wait for placement.
Step 6: Learnership Enrolment
Candidates are placed into learnerships based on company needs and invited to sign contracts.

- Completing all steps does not guarantee immediate placement
- Placement depends on available learnership opportunities
