International Parliamentary Scholarship (IPS) Africa 2027

Programme Overview

  • Location: Berlin, Germany.
  • Duration: Four-week intensive leadership program.
  • Dates: 4 January 2027 – 2 February 2027.
  • Capacity: 24 participants from across Africa.

Financial Benefits (Fully Funded)

  • Stipend: €700 monthly allowance.
  • Housing: Free shared accommodation in Berlin.
  • Travel: Full coverage of round-trip flight expenses.
  • Insurance: Comprehensive health, accident, and liability coverage.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Citizenship: Citizen of an eligible African country.
  • Age: Under 30 years old as of January 1, 2027.
  • Education: Recognized university degree holder.
  • Language: Minimum B2-level proficiency in German.
  • Engagement: Active interest in political or social issues.

Required Documentation (In German)

  • Language Proof: German B2 certificate or higher.
  • Motivation Letter: Max 2 pages, signed, written in German.
  • Identification: Copy of Passport or National ID.
  • Academic Records: University degree (English or German).
  • Recommendation: One letter of support (English or German).

Selection Process

  • Digital Submission: Applications via the official portal only.
  • Interviews: Held at German diplomatic missions for shortlisted candidates.
  • Criteria: Based on qualifications, civic engagement, and language skills.
  • Note: SA and Namibia residents can also apply for the 5-month Global IPS.
