LPWL/DPWRI 2026 Multi-Learnership Opportunity – Construction Trades, Limpopo

The Limpopo Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure (DPWRI), in partnership with the Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA), invites applications for its 2026 Multi-Learnership Opportunity. This 12-month programme equips unemployed youth with accredited, in-demand construction trade skills, preparing them for careers in the construction and infrastructure sector.

Programme Overview

Successful applicants will undergo a 12-month training programme consisting of:

  • 4 months of classroom-based theoretical training
  • 6 months of workplace exposure at approved construction sites

Training Location: Polokwane (candidates must relocate at their own cost for the theory component).


What to Expect During the Programme

1. Theoretical Training (4 Months)

Learners will attend classes covering:

  • Construction safety
  • Materials and tools
  • Technical measurements
  • Building theory
  • Planning and preparation for work
  • Trade-specific competencies

2. Workplace Exposure (6 Months)

Learners are placed on active construction sites under supervision of experienced artisans and may be involved in:

  • Bricklaying and foundation work
  • Fitting and installing plumbing systems
  • Painting and finishing
  • Carpentry and roofing
  • Community housing development

Learnership Pathways Available

Candidates can apply for one of the following construction trades:

  • Plumbing
  • Carpentry
  • Bricklaying
  • Painting
  • Community House Building

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must be unemployed, available for the full 12-month programme, and meet the following criteria:

  • Age: 18–35 years
  • Education: Certified copy of Matric (Grade 12) or higher qualification
  • Documents: Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) and certified copy of South African ID
  • Relocation: Willing to relocate at own cost for the theory component in Polokwane
