Available Bursary Streams

The bursary leads to qualifications aligned with ATNS’s operational needs, covering careers such as Air Traffic Controller and Aeronautical Information Officer.

  • Air Traffic Services Officer (ATSO)
  • Aeronautical Information Management Officer (AIMO)
  • Target Generating Officer (TGO)
  • Airport Management Centre (AMC) Liaison Officer
  • Simulator Support Officer (SSO)

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet all of the following:

  • South African citizen with a valid ID
  • Youth aged 18–35 and currently unemployed
  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate
  • Pure Mathematics: Level 4 / HG-D / SG-C or higher
  • English: Level 4 / HG-D / SG-C or higher
  • Medically fit (ATSO stream)
  • Willing to relocate anywhere in South Africa

Important: Applicants previously enrolled in any ATNS bursary will not be considered.
