About the Programme
The African Rainbow Minerals (ARM) Bursary Programme 2026 offers South African students full financial support to pursue studies in specific fields at selected universities. This initiative aims to develop talented graduates in areas critical to ARM’s operations and the broader mining and engineering sectors.
Bursaries cover tuition, accommodation, meals, textbooks, and a laptop, ensuring students can focus on achieving academic excellence.
Supported Universities & Fields of Study
University of Cape Town (UCT)
Available to students who have completed their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of study in:
- Accounting
- Electrical Engineering
- Data Science
- Computer Science / Information Technology
- Mechanical Engineering
Stellenbosch University
Available to students who have completed their 1st year of study in:
- Geology
- Process Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
What the Bursary Covers
- Registration and tuition fees for the full course duration
- Accommodation (official university residence)
- Meals
- Laptop
- Prescribed textbooks
Eligibility & Application Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must not already be receiving another bursary
- Academic performance is a key selection criterion
- Shortlisted candidates must be available for panel interviews and psychometric assessments
Required Documents
Applicants must submit certified copies of:
- Valid South African ID
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
- Full academic record from their university
- University acceptance or registration letter
