Job Description

Coca-Cola Beverages Africa is seeking a Warehouse Team Leader to report directly to the Warehouse Manager. The Warehouse Team Leader will oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient execution of logistics processes to support the company strategy, while maintaining service excellence to internal departments and customers.

This role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and a focus on safety, quality, and cost-effective warehouse management.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the operational warehouse team in all inbound and outbound processes.
  • Oversee stock management and inventory accuracy to maintain optimal warehouse performance.
  • Drive housekeeping standards and ensure correct product placement in line with warehouse layout guidelines.
  • Ensure safe operation of company assets, including forklifts and pallet jacks, with proper pre-trip inspections and damage reporting.
  • Maintain high product quality through effective rework processes, adherence to stock rotation, and First Expiry, First Out (FEFO) principles.
  • Monitor stock age and rotation, ensuring effective warehouse management practices.
  • Ensure system transactions are accurate and timely, including end-of-shift reconciliations.
  • Align resources to activity requirements based on time of day and day of the week.
  • Provide continuous on-the-job training, coaching, and support to team members.
  • Conduct effective team meetings and actively resolve operational issues.
  • Drive financial management of warehouse operations, including cost control, resource planning, and reduction of overtime and seasonal workers.

Skills, Experience & Education

  • Grade 12 qualification required; BTech or Supply Chain Diploma preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ warehousing or logistics experience in an FMCG environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse processes, including inter-relationships between functions.
  • Strong understanding of Settlement, Proof of Delivery, and Stock Management processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (MSD 365).
  • Strong coaching and decision-making abilities, with the capability to manage a team effectively.
  • Ability to make immediate operational decisions based on information, process knowledge, and desired outcomes.

General Requirements

  • Proficient in written and spoken English; knowledge of an indigenous language is an advantage.
  • Code BE driver’s license required.
