Role Purpose
The Client Service Consultant is responsible for delivering professional, high-quality service to clients through various service channels, including inbound calls, emails, and walk-in interactions. The role ensures that client needs, queries, and complaints are resolved within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) while complying with legislative and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Client Service & Operations
- Handle client queries and complaints professionally within agreed SLAs
- Take ownership of complaints and ensure timely resolution
- Provide accurate information, advice, and documentation to clients
- Capture, update, and maintain accurate client information on systems
- Escalate complex queries to relevant departments when required
- Ensure adherence to compliance, policy, and legislative standards
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Provide after-sales support and authoritative service advice
- Manage client expectations through clear communication
- Recommend service improvements to enhance client experience
Administration & Reporting
- Complete all administrative and reporting tasks accurately and on time
- Identify system or process issues and suggest enhancements
- Provide service delivery reports against customer targets and SLAs
People & Professional Development
- Work collaboratively with peers and stakeholders
- Participate in change and continuous improvement initiatives
- Take ownership of personal and career development
- Continuously improve industry, product, and legislative knowledge
Financial & Risk Awareness
- Support cost-effective operations and resource utilisation

Minimum Requirements
Education & Qualifications
- Matric or equivalent
- Business-related qualification (advantageous)
- Product training (advantageous)
Experience
- 2–3 years’ experience in a call centre or client service environment
- Proven knowledge of customer service principles
- Exposure to the insurance industry (advantageous)
Skills & Knowledge
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel)
- Proficient in English and at least one other official South African language (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
