What You Can Study
Degrees only (no diplomas) in:
- Chemical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical & Electronic Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Mining Engineering
- Metallurgy
- Chemistry (up to Honours)
- Geology (up to Honours)
- Data Science (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research)
University of Technology Option:
- Mine Surveying (B.Eng. Tech only)
Note: Maths Literacy is not accepted.
Minimum Requirements
- South African citizen
- Below 30 years of age
- Accepted or provisionally accepted at a recognised South African university
- Strong academic results:
High School learners (B.Eng / B.Sc):
- Mathematics: 70–79%
- Physical Science: 70–79%
- English: 50–69%
University students:
- Minimum 50% for all courses
- Must complete degree within minimum time

2. Postgraduate Bursary (MSc / MEng / PhD)

- Chemical Engineering (various specialisations like Thermodynamics, Reactor Technology, Modelling)
- Chemistry (Analytical, Environmental, Catalysis, Polymer Science)
- Data Science (Mathematics, Statistics)
- Cyber Security
Requirements
- Minimum 65% academic average
- Final-year or completed relevant undergraduate degree
- Must study full-time in South Africa
