Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking experienced Fixed-Term Cashiers for the Sunninghill Store. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service at point of sale, ensuring a professional and efficient shopping experience. You will capture customer transactions accurately on the Dis-Chem system while maintaining strict compliance with operating procedures and fraud-prevention standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Minimum of 6 months’ cashier or till operation experience
- Computer literate (MS Office)
- Strong numerical skills
- Excellent command of English
- Basic customer service skills
- Willingness and ability to work retail hours
Key Responsibilities
- Follow Dis-Chem’s customer service policies and procedures
- Build and maintain professional customer relationships
- Report customer complaints and compliments to management
- Maintain the required customer turnover rate
- Stay informed about current promotions and sales
- Ensure safety and minimise risk for customers and colleagues
- Apply Dis-Chem’s 5-star communication principles
- Manage cash flow responsibly
- Ensure all line voids and price changes are authorised
- Process purchases, payments, refunds, and exchanges
- Handle all loyalty cards, including partner programmes (Discovery, Medihelp, Momentum, Legacy Lifestyle, ABSA Rewards, eBucks)
- Secure cash in drop safes as per SOPs
- Protect your till code and password
- Ensure all outgoing goods are scanned and paid for
- Keep money secure inside the till
- Maintain confidentiality around daily takings
- Report suspicious behaviour to management
- Assist customers with merchandise queries
- Follow all security procedures
