Job Summary

The Analyst: Fraud Solutions role provides specialist forensic expertise through investigation, risk identification, fraud prevention, and stakeholder engagement. The position supports best-practice improvement and strengthens Absa’s fraud defence capability.


Key Responsibilities

Investigations

  • Investigate theft, fraud, and corruption cases end-to-end within prescribed timelines
  • Compile comprehensive investigation reports with factual findings and recommendations
  • Provide evidence for disciplinary hearings, CCMA matters, and legal proceedings
  • Attend disciplinary hearings and criminal/civil court proceedings when required

Risk Identification & Fraud Prevention

  • Identify existing and emerging fraud risks and escalate to relevant business units
  • Conduct detailed risk assessments including loss quantification and mitigation actions
  • Identify high-risk business areas and conduct fraud awareness presentations
  • Communicate new fraud trends and scams to Heads of Business and stakeholders

Operational Requirements & Compliance

  • Recommend improvements to investigative methodologies and workflows
  • Comply with Absa Group policies, procedures, and compulsory training requirements
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to achieve organisational objectives

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. SAPS, SARS, other banks)
  • Engage industry counterparts to share intelligence and stay abreast of fraud trends
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings and contribute meaningful insights

Minimum Requirements

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in:
    • Law
    • Military Science
    • Security Studies
