Job Summary
The Manager – Absa Kenya Foundation will lead the strategic and day-to-day operations of the Foundation. This role oversees programme development, operational efficiency, fundraising initiatives, and monitoring and evaluation to ensure effective delivery of the Foundation’s mandate.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Development & Management
- Lead the development and execution of the Foundation’s strategic plan
- Design, implement, and scale programmes across the four strategic pillars
Operations & Governance
- Ensure effective day-to-day operations of the Foundation
- Maintain compliance with governance, regulatory, and internal Absa policies
Fundraising & Partnerships
- Develop and execute fundraising strategies
- Build partnerships and manage donor relationships to support programmes
Monitoring & Evaluation
- Establish impact measurement frameworks
- Track programme performance and report outcomes effectively
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Enhance collaboration, visibility, and impact of Foundation initiatives
Budgeting & Financial Oversight
- Prepare and manage operational and programme budgets
- Ensure financial accountability, cost-effectiveness, and transparency
Risk & Control
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and Absa’s Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework
- Identify, assess, and manage risks relevant to the role
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related field
- Postgraduate qualification in Development Studies, Sustainability, Public Policy, or Business Administration (preferred)
Experience
- Minimum 7–10 years experience in programme management
- Experience in foundation, NGO, CSR, or development environments
- Proven fundraising and donor engagement experience
- Strong background in monitoring and evaluation frameworks
Preferred Skills & Competencies
- Leadership experience in non-profit or sustainability-focused organisations
- Strong programme management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent communication, planning, and reporting abilities
- Proven budgeting and fundraising capability
- Ability to manage multiple projects and diverse stakeholders
