Job Summary

The Recoveries Agent is responsible for managing collections and recoveries of allocated loan and credit card accounts within the Personal and Local Business Segments. The role involves adopting strategies, negotiating with customers, and ensuring accounts are brought back to order while maintaining high standards of customer service and operational excellence.


Key Focus Areas

Business Management (40%)

  • Meet daily productivity targets for calls, promises to pay (PTP), and kept promises (KPs).
  • Use collection scripts and tools to verify client identity and negotiate repayment agreements.
  • Monitor allocated accounts daily and take appropriate actions within policy guidelines.
  • Recommend accounts for forbearance within predetermined parameters.
  • Escalate unresolved cases to the Team Leader.
  • Update systems to reflect outcomes of customer negotiations.

Customer Obsession (30%)

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customer complaints; escalate when necessary.
  • Maintain professionalism to ensure customer retention.
  • Address customer needs effectively while minimizing risk to the bank.
  • Apply world-class customer service standards in all interactions.

Teamwork (10%)

  • Collaborate with business networks to offer alternative solutions for customers.
  • Participate in team initiatives and local events to enhance skills and community presence.
  • Align personal performance objectives with line manager expectations.

Controls (30%)

  • Adhere to service level agreements, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of collection actions with timely follow-ups.
  • Deliver operational excellence, meeting quality, cost, and service standards.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC) in Business, Commerce, or Management Studies (Required)

Experience

  • Knowledge of lending principles, credit risk assessment, and retail banking products
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Computer literacy with ability to quickly learn new software/applications
