Programme Overview
The SARB ERD Winter School is a week-long in-person programme designed for postgraduate students interested in economics, finance, and policymaking.
Participants will gain exposure to international and local research insights, engage in action-based learning projects, and learn about the role of the South African Reserve Bank in the financial system.
Outstanding participants may also be considered for the SARB Graduate Development Programme.
Accommodation and transport will be provided to successful candidates.
Fields of Study
Applicants must be studying or have completed a postgraduate qualification in one of the following areas:
- Economics
- Statistics
- Mathematics
- Finance
- Actuarial Science
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Completed or currently completing a postgraduate qualification
- Achieved or expect to achieve an average above 70% in the final year
- Demonstrated academic excellence
- Strong interest in financial services, research, or policymaking
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be currently unemployed
