Purpose of the Role
To ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for branch and casual staff. The role supports the payroll function by maintaining precise records, handling queries, and ensuring compliance with labour and tax legislation.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
- Manage payroll data including new hires, terminations, promotions, leave, and staff changes
- Process payroll accurately and correct discrepancies promptly
- Prepare payroll documentation (e.g., certificates of service, UI19 forms)
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with BCEA and tax regulations
- Perform month-end payroll procedures
- Process third-party payments and reconciliations
- Maintain accurate filing for audit purposes
Employee Support
- Handle payroll-related queries from employees, managers, and third parties
- Provide clear communication regarding payroll matters
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Minimum 2 years’ payroll experience (retail experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of BCEA and tax regulations
- Proficiency in Excel
- Experience with payroll systems such as SAP Payroll, Dynamique Payroll, or Supertime
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
