The Leadership Journey
- Staff Supervision: Managing dispensary staff, including the self-medication area, and overseeing rosters.
- Pharmaceutical Care: Taking full accountability for patient needs and providing expert medical advice.
- Operations & Compliance: Ensuring the store adheres to SAPC (South African Pharmacy Council) and POPIA regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Excellence: Overseeing the accurate picking, packing, and labeling of medication while monitoring drug interactions.
- Scheduled Meds Management: Safeguarding Schedule 6 medications and maintaining the necessary registers.
- Stock Optimization: Managing inventory to minimize shrinkage, disposing of expired stock, and ensuring high purchasing compliance.
- Customer Experience: Acting as the “face” of the dispensary and managing medical aid claims/authorizations.
- People Management: Leading and motivating teams, handling HR documentation, and authorizing schedules on Kronos.
Essential Requirements
- Education: BPharm Degree (or equivalent) and Grade 12.
- Professional Status: Currently registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
- Experience: 2–5 years in a pharmaceutical environment with some staff supervision experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Unisolv, MS Office, and SAP.
- Citizenship: South African citizen with a clear criminal and credit record.
